History

The history of Women Sharing Hope goes back 60  plus years when a group of local Whatcom County women came together to form the St. Joseph Hospital Sarah Debra Auxiliary hosting an annual charity event called the Sarah Deborah Ball. 

 

In 1999, the group evolved to its own non-profit organization named Women Helping Others. The name changed again in 2004 to what it remains today, Women Sharing Hope.

Over the subsequent years, the Women Sharing Hope volunteers have raised over $1,000,000 for the women and children of Whatcom County. For 21 years of these years, the WSH annual fundraising event has been the Champagne Luncheon and Handbag Auction. We are hopeful that 2022 will see yet another Spring annual event.
